Virginia Union University's Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will start the 2010 season when the Panthers host the VUU Season Opener on September 4 at Bryan Park in Richmond, Va.

"We're looking to be in contention on the men's and women's side in every meet that we compete in this year," said VUU Head Cross-Country Coach Wilbert D. Johnson.  "We know that the CIAA teams will provide stiff competition, but we've recruited student-athletes from as far away as California and Florida in order to enhance the Panther program."

VUU will travel to Bowie State on September 15 and then host the VUU Invitational on September 29.  The Panthers also travel to the College of William & Mary and the HBCU Challenge before the regular season wraps up on October 23 with the CIAA Cross-Country Championships in Cary, N.C.
