Former Virginia Union University men's basketball player Brad Byerson has been drafted by the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Developmental League.
Byerson was drafted in the NBA D-League's draft on November 1.
Byerson, a 6-7 power forward from Thomas Dale High School in Colonial Heights, Va., helped lead VUU to the 2006 NCAA Division II Championship Game in Springfield, Mass.
Byerson played three years for the Panthers, averaging 12.7 points per game in 2005-06, 15.1 ppg in 2006-07 and 16.8 ppg in 2007-08.
He was named to the NCAA All-Elite Eight Team in 2006 as well as being named All-CIAA in 2006 and 2008. During Byerson's time on the court, VUU won three straight CIAA Eastern Division crowns.
Byerson played for the Hapoel Natzrath Elite team in Israel during the 2009-10 season, where he averaged 21.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.
