The Virginia Union Women's bowling team participated in the CIAA Eastern Division Tournament this past weekend at Bowl America Southwest in Midlothian, Virginia. In only their second tournament under first year coach James Washington the team showed remarkable improvement from the first tournament. Led by Sophomore Kristan Clay, who had the high game of 210 and the high average of 172, the lady Panthers achieved two new school records in the baker round. They bowled a pin better than they bowled in the first tournament. They also improved by more than 400 pins in the baker format.
Other bowlers on the team were: senior Ashley Hill high game 169 and 122 average, Junior Alexis Foster high game of 154 and 111 average. Senior Ciera Scott high game 155 and 115 average, Senior Chante Green high game 144 and 108 average and newcomer Junior Brittney Coward high game 100 and 82 average.
The Lady Panthers will be participating in Bowie State University Classic, January 24-25, 2008.
