VUU Takes Third Place at Moultrie Invitational

2008 VUU Track and Field Team
BOWIE, MD – The VUU men's track and field team posted 86.5 points, landing them in third place in the Inaugural Moultrie Invitational. The Invitational was hosted by Bowie State University, who won the men's division of the meet, recording 167 total team points. VUU's Marquis Davis captured another first place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 42'1''. Teammate Ernest Robinson's throw of 35'3'' landed him in second place.  Robinson took top honors in the high jump with a leap of 6'1”. Geoffrey Langat (1500 meter dash), Melvin Edison (110 hurdles) and Andy Williams (discus) added second place finishes in their respective events. 
The VUU women's team finished in sixth place. Recording points for the Lady Panthers were Kristan Clay and Roberta Salisbury. Clay placed fifth in the discus, sixth in the javelin and 8th in the shot put. Salisbury finished eighth in the 400 meter dash.
