The Panther 100 Club was founded by the late Jerry Crews in 1985. The focus of our organization is to support the athletic program and scholarship at Virginia Union University. Our mission is to be committed to excellence in education and athletics.

Here are just a few initiatives we’re most proud of:
• We support (financially) eight different sports which impacts approximately 180 students (Football, Basketball m/w, Bowling w, Cross Country m/w, Golf m, Softball w, Tennis m/w, Volleyball)
• Provided resources to install the VIP entrance gate and patron signs at Hovey Field
• Partnered with the Athletic Department in purchasing a school flag promoting school spirit
• VUU fundraiser ‘Buy A Brick’ Project $500.00 - 2004
• Purchased 4 musical instruments for the marching band – 2003 -‘04
• Purchase the entrance (welcome) sign for Hovey Field – 2002 -‘03
• Supported our Women’s Bowling Team--uniforms and monetary contribution 2002/’03
• We recognize and donate annually to the Jerry Crews Scholarship Fund
• Each year, we recognized the male/female student athletes with highest GPA at the Athletic Banquet (plaque/monetary donation toward their scholarship)
• Purchased souvenir ads for Alumni pamphlet and VUU Alumni booklet
• Purchased the uniform for the university Mascot
• We provide transportation for the cheerleaders to the majority of away football/basketball games 1997-2004
• Acquired a $250,000 Endowment policy for the University
• Purchased University flag to displayed at all athletic events
• Donated $5000.00 to the University as a gift
• Purchased the storage utility shed, ice maker, and the regulation goal posts for Hovey Field
• Donated $1000.00 to the (VUU scholarship fund) Tom Joyner Foundation
