Box Score Virginia Union University's Melyse Brown, a freshman from Halifax, Va., grabbed a career and season-high 10 rebounds, but Saint Augustine's defeated the Lady Panthers 66-50 on Thursday, January 12, in Raleigh, N.C.

Brown's eight boards bettered her previous high of eight rebounds, which she had done twice this season.

VUU was led in scoring by freshman Ashle Freeman's 13 points.

Saint Augustine's was paced by Keyona Bryant's 14 points and eight rebounds.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in CIAA play.  Saint Augustine's is now 8-5 and 3-0 in the CIAA.

The Lady Panthers now return to historic Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va., to face Livingstone College at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14.
