Virginia Union University's Dashia Chandler scored a team-high 17 points, but Shaw University outgunned the Lady Panthers for an 86-61 win on Monday, January 9, in Spaulding Gym in Raleigh, N.C.

VUU's Ashle Freeman and Vicki Collier joined Chandler in double-figure scoring.  Freeman scored 15 points while Collier added 10 points in the game.

VUU's Parress Davis had a career-high 10 rebounds in the game.

Shaw was led by Brittany Ransom's 18 points and Kyria Buford's 11 rebounds.

VUU is now 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the CIAA.  Shaw raised it's record to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Raleigh, N.C., to face Saint Augustine's College at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12.  The game will be streamed live at the Virginia Union University Sports page at http://www.ustream.tv.
